Cue Credit Where Credit is Due
There are no new ideas. Or at least that’s what I hear. Whether or not that rather absolute statement is true or not, I’ve certainly borrowed a lot of ideas and concepts from other sources to cobble this game together and turn it into something unique and my own, and I figure I might as well give credit where it is deserved.
A lot of the inspiration came from Bastion by Supergiant Games. Lots of names, concepts, and themes came from there (including the entire Pantheon, shamelessly lifted wholesale). Savy Magic the Gathering players might recognize the names of certain people and locations from the lore of that particular card game. I’ve also drawn a lot of inspiration from the indie role-playing game Master of the Wind (will provide a link when I can find a working one again). I’ve also taken many cues from the e-Book “Gamemastering” by Brian Jamison; a lot of the advice he gave in the book as shaped how I design and run RPGs.
I would like to tell you right now what music I plan on using, but the truth is I don’t really have that much planning done on that front. But expect to hear tracks from videogames such as Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate, Lost Odyssey, Baten Kaitos, and others.
